Noreen P. Bahn

Bahn, 73, formerly of Bot-

tineau, ND passed away

on August 3, 2021, after a

courageous fight with

Alzheimer’s. At the time

of her death Noreen was

surrounded by her hus-

band of nearly 53 years.

Funeral Services will be

held at 10:30 AM, Tues-

day, August 10, 2021, at

DaWise-Perry / Mandan

Crematory, 4211 Old Red

Trail, Mandan, with Rev.

Bruce Adams officiating.

Burial will be in the ND

Veterans Cemetery, Man-

dan. Visitation is

scheduled for one hour

prior to the service.

Noreen was born on

May 16, 1948, to Lloyd

and Hazel (Erdmann)

Kortgaard. She was raised

in Bottineau, ND and gra-

duated from Bottineau

High School. After gra-

duating Noreen attended

business college in Min-

neapolis, MN and worked

at 1st National Bank until

she moved back to Bot-

tineau. On September 28,

1968, Noreen married the

love of her life, Rodney

Bahn. Noreen continued

working at various banks

and an eye clinic before

going back to school at

NDSU-Bottineau where

she obtained her business

administration degree.

Soon after she got her real

estate license and served

the Bottineau and Lake

Metigoshe communities

as a Century 21 real estate

agent for 22 years. She re-

ceived numerous real

estate awards including

Realtor of the Year.

Noreen retired in 2013

and soon after was diag-

nosed with Alzheimer’s

disease. In 2014 Noreen

and Rod moved to

Bismarck where she built

her dream home. Noreen

and Rod had two sons,

Jeff, and Jerry, whom she

adored. She loved watch-

ing them grow up and en-

joyed watching them play

sports, especially hockey

and car racing. She treat-

ed her daughter-in-laws,

DeAnn and Ginny, as her

own daughters and loved

any chance to go shop-

ping with them.

Noreen was a member

of United Methodist

Church in Bottineau,

where she served as

president for the United

Methodist Women’s group

for a period of time.

Throughout the years she

participated in the Red

Hats, Jaycettes,

Homemakers and was ac-

tive with the Bottineau

youth hockey and base-

ball programs. Noreen en-

joyed shopping, traveling,

decorating, dinning out,

listening to music (espe-

cially Elvis Presley), visit-

ing and gardening. She

loved Christmas and the

color yellow. She was

blessed with seven

grandchildren who she

loved to watch play sports

and buy gifts for.

She is survived by: her

husband; her sons and

their children, Jeff

(DeAnn), Avery, Easton

and Kamryn, Farmington,

MN and Jerry (Ginny),

Morgan, Madison, Mason

and Myles, Bismarck; her

brother, Lonny (Kris)

Kortgaard, her

mother-in-law, Margaret

“Peggy” Bahn; her

sisters-in-law, Kay Buirge,

Toni Daede, and Joanne

Dieterle; and several

nieces and nephews.

Noreen was preceded

in death by: her parents;

father-in-law, Cecil “Joe”

Bahn, brothers-in-law,

Charles “Chuck” Buirge

and Don Gumke, and

grandson Harrison Bahn.

In lieu of flowers the

family requests memorials

be given to the

Alzheimer’s Association.

Funeral arrangements

are entrusted with,

Crematory, Mandan.
