Gloria Signalness
Sept. 26, 1933-June 15, 2021
Gloria Signalness, 87,
Minot, died Tuesday, June
15, 2021, in a Minot hos-
pital.
Gloria Ann was born
September 26, 1933, in
Glenwood, Minnesota to
Alvin and Georgine (Reir-
son) Alsaker. She attend-
ed school in Glenwood.
Gloria was united in mar-
riage to Odean “Dean”
Signalness on March 22,
1949, at Lutheran Par-
sonage in Glenwood.
They moved to Minot
shortly after getting mar-
ried.
Gloria and Dean moved
to Burlington in 1961
where they owned and
operated Burlington Tex-
aco and Repair for many
years. After selling this
business, Dean opened
“Dean’s Repair,” a shop
right at their home.
Gloria did the bookkeep-

the business all the years
it was open. In addition
to being a crucial part of
this business, Gloria held

time, including babysit-

sery at Trinity Hospital,
sewing jackets, selling
Avon, and also worked for
an independent business
designing and decorating
wood home dÈcor to be
sold in stores throughout
North Dakota and Min-
nesota. The position she
was most proud of was
her role as a part time
foster grandparent at Bur-
lington Elementary
School. Her work ethic
was strong, and she found
joy in serving others.
Gloria continued to re-
side in Burlington for 3
years following Dean’s
death on August 8, 2004.
She then moved to her
own little home in Minot.
Gloria was an active
member of Peace Luth-
eran Church in Burling-
ton. Faith and service
were very important to
her. Gloria’s hobbies in-
cluded sewing, quilting,
camping and fishing, do-
ing puzzles, playing
cards, having coffee with
