Loy Bakke

Loy Bakke was born
June 3, 1941 in Noonan,
North Dakota the
daughter of Otto and
Mayme (Magnor) Simon-
son. She graduated from
Columbus High School in
1957.
Memorial service will
be 1:00 PM on Friday,
May 7, 2021 at the Am-
brose Lutheran Church in
Ambrose with Pastor
Joshua Parris officiating.
Inurnment will follow at
Crosby City Cemetery in
Crosby.
George Bakke and Loy
were married on June 22,
1958 at the Methodist
Church in Columbus, ND.
After 65 years of together-
ness Loy left this life with
family by her side to her
creator and heavenly fa-
ther on Feb. 14, 2021.
George and Loy resided
in Crosby, ND most of
their married life. Where
together they raised their
sons Scott and Shawn.
George and Loy owned
and operated the
Chat-n-Chew Cafe for a
number of years.
They later moved to
Williston where Loy was
employed by Golden City
Realtors and Kennington
assisted living where she
was available to help
someone in need to make
their lives easier and
brighter.
After retiring they then
moved to Minot to be
closer to family. While in
Minot, Loy attended Trin-
ity Church. She is also a
member of the Ambrose
Lutheran Church.
She is survived by: her
beloved husband, George;
son Shawn (Minot) grand-
daughter Brittney; Scott
(Teri) granddaughter,
Tashina and
great-granddaughter Jae-
lyn, all of Fargo.
Numerous aunts, uncles
and cousins.
She was preceded in
death by: her parents Otto
and Mayme Simonson.
Words truly cannot ex-
press how much she is
loved and missed.
My heart still aches in
sadness, my silent tears
still flow.
For what it meant to
lose you Loy no one will
ever know.
I’ll love you forever.
