Lavon Holm, 92,

Bismarck, formerly of

Columbus, ND, passed

away on Friday, May 14,

2021.

Family and friends are

invited to attend a grave-

side service on Thursday,

May 20, 2021 at 3:00 pm

at Trinity Lutheran

Cemetery, Columbus.

There will be a private

family service starting at

10:00 am on Thursday,

which friends can join via

live stream on the funeral

home website.

Lavon was born on Au-

gust 24, 1928 in Crosby,

ND to Odin and Hazel

(Molander) Olson. She

was raised and educated

in that area, graduated

Crosby High School in

1946, and then attended

business school in Fargo.

Lavon and George were

married on January 7,

1951, and they made their

home in Columbus, where

they raised five children.

Mom was dedicated to

Trinity Lutheran Church

in Columbus. She took

great joy in playing the or-

gan for many years, for

church services, weddings

and funerals. She was a

member of T.L.C.W., sang

in the choirs, and taught

Bible and Sunday school.

The friendships made

through her church family

were lifelong and cher-

ished.

Mother spent many

hours in the yard, tending

her flowers, especially her

peonies. Her theory on

backyard decor was there

is always room for one

more gazing ball or string

of lights. Mom had many

fine qualities, she was

well known for her sense

of humor and her ability

to remember everything.

Lavon is survived by

her daughters, Sandy (Ar-

ley) Larson, Ray, Barbara

Hill, Pamela Holm and

Lisa Holm, all of

Bismarck; five grandchil-

dren, David (Misty) Lar-

son, Blair, NE, Corey Lar-

son, Ray, Eric Larson,

Mandan, Erin (Mike)

Snider, Mora, MN and

Alex Hill, Denver, CO;

two great grandchildren,

Mya and Devin Larson,

Blair, NE, and several

nieces and nephews. She

was preceded in death by

her husband, George; son,

Steven; parents, Odin and

Hazel Olson and sister

Gloria Johnson.
