Lavon was born on Au-
gust 24, 1928 in Crosby,
ND to Odin and Hazel
(Molander) Olson. She
was raised and educated
in that area, graduated
Crosby High School in
1946, and then attended
business school in Fargo.
Lavon and George were
married on January 7,
1951, and they made their
home in Columbus, where
they raised five children.
Mom was dedicated to
Trinity Lutheran Church
in Columbus. She took
great joy in playing the or-
gan for many years, for
church services, weddings
and funerals. She was a
member of T.L.C.W., sang
in the choirs, and taught
Bible and Sunday school.
The friendships made
through her church family
were lifelong and cher-
ished.
Mother spent many
hours in the yard, tending
her flowers, especially her
peonies. Her theory on
backyard decor was there
is always room for one
more gazing ball or string
of lights. Mom had many
fine qualities, she was
well known for her sense
of humor and her ability
to remember everything.
Lavon is survived by
her daughters, Sandy (Ar-
ley) Larson, Ray, Barbara
Hill, Pamela Holm and
Lisa Holm, all of
Bismarck; five grandchil-
dren, David (Misty) Lar-
son, Blair, NE, Corey Lar-
son, Ray, Eric Larson,
Mandan, Erin (Mike)
Snider, Mora, MN and

nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by
her husband, George; son,
Steven; parents, Odin and
Hazel Olson and sister
