Jerry, Carrot, Red, or Coy-
ote, 66, Minot, died
Thursday, April 8, 2021
in his home.
Robert James Dietrich
was born on March 5,
1955, in Bismarck, ND, a
son of Robert and Eleanor
(Buechler) Dietrich. He
was raised by his Aunt
Lorraine and Uncle Carl
with his brother, sister,
and cousins on the family
farm near Sawyer, ND. As
a child he was a “holy
roller” attending Calvary
Chapel with his grandma
Polly. He graduated from
Sawyer High School in
1974.
Robert was a jack of all
trades. He assisted with
the operations of the fami-
ly farm, owned Coyote
Construction doing trees,
helping build houses,
worked on water drilling
wells in Utah, and would
do about anything to help
his friends and family. He
was never afraid to roll up
his sleeves and do the job
no one else could or
would.
Robert was once mar-
ried to Lisa Folkert then
divorced. He was with
Jacqulynn Shelby for 10
years. In that union they
had 1 daughter, Misty
Dawn.
He was an avid out-
doorsman, who enjoyed
hunting, fishing and trap-
ping, water skiing at Rice
Lake, which he was fan-
tastic at. He also enjoyed
taking family trips to Big
Mountain White Fish
MT., where he taught his
daughter how to ski, and
spending time at
Strawberry Lake with his
friends that became fami-
ly. He was a wonderful fa-
ther, teacher, mentor and
friend. He will be missed
by all that knew him.

Daughter Misty (Josh)
Dietrich; two grandchil-
dren Alexzander and Ash-
ton Velva ND;
Sister: Lorry (Jr) Lund;
Sister-in-law: Peggy
Buechler Minot; Cousins:
Terry Van Alstyne, Kim-
ble SD; Carl Van Alstyne
(Gail), Everett WA; Pau-
lette Buechler Zietz (Ro-
bin), Sawyer; several
nieces, nephews and
cousins also survive.
Robert was preceded in
death by: his parents,
Maternal Grandparents:
Mike and Polly Buechler;
Paternal Grandparents:
George and Clara (Volk)
Dietrich Schleicher; Both-
er: Michael Buechler; and
many aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces, and
nephews
Visitation: There will be
no reviewal as cremation
has taken place, however,
people may sign a guest
book on Monday, April
19, 2021 from noon until
1 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Minot
Memorial Service:
Monday, April 19, 2021 at
1 p.m. at
Thompson-Larsson Fun-
eral Home Chapel, Minot.

to follow starting at 3:30
p.m. at the Velva Ameri-
can Legion Post 39.
