Lila Ruby Tollefson, 95,
lifelong Minot resident,
died Sunday, April 25,
2021 in a Minot Assisted
Living Center.
Lila was born March 26,
1926 at Minot, North
Dakota, the daughter of
Jacob and Louise
(Roseneau) Adams. She
graduated from Minot
High School in 1944 and
worked for several years
in the offices of the
Truax-Traer Coal Com-
pany.
Lila was united in mar-
riage to Benjamin Cor-
nelius Tollefson on April
11, 1949 in St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, Minot.
This union was blessed
with four children. In ad-
dition to raising their four
children, she was also em-
ployed as a legal secretary
for Bosard and
McCutcheon Law Offices
in Minot.
Lila and Ben have been
longtime members of St.
Mark's Lutheran Church,
where she was active with
Elizabeth Circle group.
She enjoyed baking and
cooking and was well
known for her wonderful
cookies. She enjoyed
keeping a meticulous di-
ary and took great pride in
her penmanship.
She was a wonderful
hostess and always had a
platter of cookies ready no
matter who was coming
over for coffee. She kept
her sense of humor up un-
til the very end, was quick
to laugh and a very faith-
ful friend to many.
Her loving family in-
cludes: husband of 72
years, Ben Tollefson,
Minot; children, Rob (Lin-
da) Tollefson, Green Bay,
WI, LuAnn Henning, Mis-
soula, MT, Dave Tollef-
son, Los Angeles, CA, Ric
(Tracie) Tollefson, Minot;
7 grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren;
several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Lila was preceded in
death by: her parents and
siblings, Gertrude, Laura,
Amalia, Arthur and
Clarence.
Funeral service: Satur-
day, May 1, 2021 at 11:00
in St. Mark's Lutheran
Church, Minot. The fami-
ly prefers that you wear a
mask and that social dis-
tance guidelines be fol-
lowed. A delayed stream-
ing of the service will be-
gin on Sunday at Noon.
