Verdine Sollid, 95,
Moorhead, MN, formerly
of Velva, ND and Simcoe,
ND, passed away on
Saturday, January 30, 2021
in a Moorhead, MN, as-
sisted living center.
Verdine Yvonne Lee
was born on August 28,
1925, a daughter of Henry
and Annie (Slalheim) Lee
near Granville, ND. She
attended Oak Valley
Country School. She was
baptized and confirmed in
the Verendrye Lutheran
Church, Verendrye.
On November 13, 1943,
Verdine was united in
marriage to Leland S. Sol-
lid in Velva, ND. They
made their home on the
Sollid farm near Simcoe,
where they raised their
three children, Sheryl,
Larry and Dennis. After
forty-five years of farming,
Verdine and Leland
moved to Velva in 1981.
Leland passed away on
June 16, 2008. Verdine
eventually moved to Fargo
in 2013.
Verdine was a member
of the Stenkjaer Lutheran
Church in Simcoe until its
closure. She was a
member of the ELCA, la-
dies aid, church choir and
taught Sunday School for
many years.
She enjoyed her puzzle
books which would keep
her busy for many hours a
day, keeping her content.
Verdine and Leland
would try to never miss
Bingo at the Velva Ameri-
can Legion every week.
Her family always en-
joyed her chunk pickles
and donuts that she
would make.
Verdine is survived by:

Thomas, Velva, ND,
Dennis (Connie) Sollid,
Fargo, ND; Grandchildren:
Troy (Joleen) Thomas,
Mark (Lorie) Thomas,
Anne (Trevor) Kittleson
and Kari (Ryan) Marc-
hand;
great-grandchildren: Had-
ley Thomas, Thea Tho-
mas, Matthew Sollid,
McKenzie Marchand,
Grace Marchand, Kailee
Kittleson, Kasen Kittleson,
Ethan Kittleson. Several
nieces, nephews and
cousins also survive.
Verdine was preceded
in death by: her parents,
husband of 64 years Le-
land, son Larry, grand-
daughter Mindy Ann Sol-
lid, great-granddaughter
Jocelyn Thomas, along
with sisters Lillian Chris-
topherson, Marlys
Gjellstad: brothers; Harley
Lee, Lester Lee, and Nor-
lan Lee.

February 2, 2021 from 5
until 7 p.m. at

eral Home, Minot
