Shane Grondahl

April 30, 1957-Feb. 20, 2021

Shane Grondahl, 63,

Minot, died Saturday,

February 20, 2021 in his

home surrounded by his

loving family after a very

short battle with cancer.

Shane was born April

30, 1957 in Minot, ND to

Eugene ‘Bud’ and Joann

(Johnson) Grondahl. He

grew up and attended

school in Upham, gra-

duating from Upham High

School in 1975. He at-

tended the ND State Col-

lege of Science in Wahpe-

ton.

Shane was united in

marriage to Leanne

Laskowski on September

14, 1991 in Minot. They

made their home in Minot

and last year they were

able to enjoy the snowbird

life for a short time before

Nevada shut down for

COVID.

In Minot Shane was

employed at Chateau

Lanes, G & M Lumber,

Bridgeman Creamery and

Magic City Garage Door.

In 1997 Shane started

working for IF LaFleur &

Sons. He enjoyed his

work as the League Coor-

dinator and it showed in

the relationships he built

and valued during his em-

ployment. Shane retired

on April 28, 2017 due to

health concerns.

Shane was a member of

the Minot Moose Lodge

and was a past president

of the Apple Grove Cou-

ples Golf League. He was

a volunteer for the Trinity

Stroke Survivor to Sur-

vivor support program.

He played recreation

softball for many years on

competitive teams in Up-

ham, Washburn and

Minot. Shane enjoyed

playing golf, basketball,

darts, pool, Texas

Hold’em Poker and played

in many leagues for all of

those. He loved to travel,

especially to Las Vegas

and Laughlin.

Shane will be missed

for his easy smile, sense

of humor, quick wit and

compassion for others.

You never had to guess

what his political party

was.

Shane is survived by:

his wife Leanne, Minot;

siblings Kevin Grondahl,

Corrine Grondahl and

Wade Grondahl;

sisters-in-law Kathy (Karl)

Kirstein, Karin (Randy)

Clark and Lorna (Nick)

Roll; very special nieces

and nephews Eric Gron-

dahl, Jennifer (Kwang)

Lee, Jared (Norma) Gron-

dahl, Tyler Grondahl,

Kyle (Stephanie) Gron-

dahl, Chaise Grondahl,

Becca Grondahl, Chad

Kirstein, Daniel (Jessica)

Schiele, Jamie Haskins,

Ryan (Jessica) Clark, Jess

Roll, Teri Roll and Alex

(Kelsey) Roll; several un-

cles and aunts and many

cousins; stepmother

Sharon Grondahl; step-

brother Kevin Miller;

stepsisters Tammy

Adams, Julie Hall, Lori

LaHaise and Susan Mil-

lang; and many lifelong

friends.

Shane was preceded in

death by: his parents, sis-

ter Heidi Grondahl, broth-

er Tim Grondahl and

in-laws Robert and Jean

Laskowski.

Service to Honor the

Life of Shane Grondahl

will be held at 11:00 a.m.

on Saturday, February 27,

2021 at the Moose Lodge,

located at 400 9th St. SW,

Minot, followed by a gath-

ering of family and

friends for food, fellow-

ship and stories from

noon until 4 p.m. at the

Moose Lodge.

Booksigning will be

held on Friday, February

26, 2021 from 3:00 p.m.

until 6:00 p.m. at the Tho-

mas Family Funeral

Home, Minot.
