Donna J. Douglas

On February 24, 2021,

Donna J. Douglas (John-

son), loving mother,

grandmother, and

great-grandmother, passed

away at age 88.

Donna was born De-

cember 3, 1932 in

Wellsburg, N.D. to Clif-

ford and Agnes (Flem-

ming) Johnson. Her

father’s job took them to

many small cities and

towns throughout Min-

nesota and North Dakota,

but her favorite memories

were of the time she spent

in Fessenden, N.D. with

her grandparents and oth-

er family members on or

near the family farm.

She graduated from

Minot High School in

1950. On February 3,

1960, she married Donald

Graham Douglas. They

resided in Minot, N.D.,

where they raised two

sons, Chris Donald Doug-

las, and Rick David Doug-

las. Since 2015, Donna

primarily resided in Edi-

na, M.N.

Donna was known for

her quick wit, her infec-

tious smile, and her lov-

ing, kind and compas-

sionate spirit. Her in-

terests and accomplish-

ments were varied and

broad. Donna and her

husband were among the

original founding

members of Christ Luth-

eran Church in Minot. In

the early 1960’s, she

wrote and had published

several short stories in the

Reader’s Digest magazine,

and in the early 1980’s

pursued her CPA certifi-

cate at Minot State

University to help her

brother Carey’s growing

business.

In 1988, she ran for

Alderman on the Minot

City Council. Donna loved

reading, cooking, travel,

and time enjoyed with her

family. She deeply loved

animals and nature and

was an ardent supporter

of the Humane Society,

treasuring the cats and

dogs she adopted as pets

over many years.

Donna was preceded in

death by: her father, Clif-

ford; her mother Agnes;

and her husband, Donald.

She is survived by: two

children, Chris Douglas

(Alan) of Edina, MN and

Rick Douglas (Cora) of

Minot, ND; grandchildren

Hannah Gregurek (Cole),

of Fargo, ND, Paul

Corzette, of Minot, ND,

Jordan Corzette of Baton

Rouge, LA;

great-grandchildren

Nevaeh Corzette, Ashton

Burgard, and Aubrianna

Corzette; and one sibling,

Carey Johnson (Robin) of

Fresno, CA.

A funeral service will

be held Saturday, Febru-

ary 27, 2021, at 10:00 AM

at the Lakewood Cemetery
