Ardell Fry

Ardell Fry, 89, Velva,
passed away on Tuesday,
January 26th at Souris
Valley Care Center.
Ardell was born No-
vember 20, 1931, the
daughter of Ralph and
Tina (Torgrimson) Covell
at the family farm in
Granville. She was raised
and educated in Gran-
ville, graduating in the
class of 1950. While in
high school, she worked
at the local cafe and bank.
After high school, Ar-
dell attended college in
Minot, then taught at a
country school. Ardell
Covell married Edson Fry
on April 2, 1953, in
Parshall, ND. From this
union five daughters were
born. Ardell worked at the
Velva Public School as a
cook for 24 years before
retiring in 1996.
Ardell was a member of
the American Legion Aux-
iliary, was a Girl Scout
Leader, and member of
the Senior Citizens. She
enjoyed playing cards,
bowling, camping, and
bird watching. She en-
joyed attending her
daughters’ school events.
She especially enjoyed
spending time and visit-
ing with all her grandchil-dren and great grandchil-
dren.

Nick and Josh Bearman,
Travis and Nikki Legg,
Eric and Kaitlin Ander-
son, Jacob and Zachary
Tomlinson, Tina and Amy
Bachmeier;
great-grandchildren, Dae-
jon Moore, Denisha
Bachmeier, Isaiah, Luis
and Issac Benitez, and
Boston Tomlinson;
brother-in-law Gordon
Fry, Minneapolis, MN;
sister-in-law Virginia
Feist, Velva, ND; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
Ardell was preceded in
death by: her husband,
Edson; her parents; broth-
ers, Marlyn, Casper and
Robert; and a sister,
Elaine.
A graveside ceremony
will be held at a later date.
