Lois was born March 3,
1940 to John Savelkoul
and Margaret Veronica
(Bloms) Savelkoul in
Minot, North Dakota.
She attended Lansford
High School and Creigh-
ton University in Nebras-
ka. She grew up in Lans-
ford North Dakota with a
loving and close family
who took care of their
family farm. She loved
the farm and shared many
fond memories of it in-
volving her and her si-
blings.
Lois lived in Merced,
CA for over 50 years and
moved to Woodbridge, VA
in June 2018 to live with
her daughter, Stacy. She
worked as a waitress for
the Branding Iron in
Merced for over 35 years.
She loved her work and
the people she served.
She was a great example
to us, her daughters, as an
individual who always
worked and worked hard.
She was grateful for life.
She believed there was
nothing you can’t do.
Her favorite sayings she
will be remembered by
are: “Suck it up, butterc-
up!” and “Tomorrow will
be a better day.” Lois was
a loving mother, grand-
mother, sister, and aunt.
She was one of a kind and
will be sorely missed.
