Gerald “Pete” Victor

Lee, 91, of Bowman, for-

mally Burlington, passed

away on January 21, 2021

in his home at peace.

Gerald “Pete” Victor Lee

was born January 6, 1930

in Minot, ND to Theodore

and Alma (Rom) Lee.

Pete grew up on a farm

east of Van Hook with his

four sisters and three

brothers. He moved to

Minot in 1939 with his

mother and siblings

where he attended Wash-

ington and Lincoln

Schools. He graduated

from Minot High School

in 1949. Following his

graduation, he worked for

Westland Oil driving

semi. In January 1951,

Pete joined the Army Na-

tional Guard. He spent

time in Alabama and Tex-

as serving his country un-

til his honorable

discharge in December of

1952.

Pete married Bernadine

(Bernie) Bachmeier on Oc-

tober 28, 1953. From this

union came 4 children,

Peggy, Pamela, Nancy,

and Joseph. In January

1953, Pete began his

career with the United

States Postal Service. He

served as a mail carrier

for 24 years and contin-

ued working with USPS

doing vehicle mainte-

nance until his

well-deserved retirement

in 1985. Pete was never

great at retirement so in

his retirement he drove

semi for 32 years. During

his life, Pete and Bernie

owned serval businesses.

They owned Toni Tavern

in Minot, Idle Hour Bar in

Burlington, Burlington

Trailer Court, and Bur-

lington Laundry Mat.

Pete was always on the

move and ready to shed a

smile or conversation

with many who were

blessed to meet him. Pete

could be found where the

fun was being had. Pete

lived his 91 years doing

all the things he loved

which was his hope for

everyone. Pete was always

ready for a hand of cards

or a spin on the dance

floor. His rosy cheeks and

sly smirk brighten even

the darkest days. After

spending years delivering

mail in rain, snow, sleet,

or shine, he enjoyed

spending winters in Ar-

izona. Pete was united in

marriage to Linda Caron
