Fred T. Johnson was
born on November 17,
1948 to Milford and Myr-
tle Johnson in Stanley,
North Dakota. Graduating
from Stanley High School
in 1966, Fred attended
Minot State University
until he found his real
passion in life: cars. Dur-
ing his early years, Fred
also met and married Ar-
lene Erie on November
22nd 1974. They raised
their family in the home-
town of Stanley while he
worked at Motor Service
Company until their clos-
ing in 2006. Fred was
known to be tackling
many masonry projects
until he started to work at
Gooseneck Implement un-
til his retirement.
Anyone who knew Fred
knew that he was a very
busy man of many talents.
Throughout his whole life
he could be seen working
on many different projects
varying from building
guns, helping with
rodeos, and assisting with
the bowling alley. He was
very competitive and
loved to play in the local
billiards leagues. One of
Fred’s soft spots was fami-
ly gatherings ranging from
the 4th of July to his
favorite, Christmas. If
anyone ever needed help
tilling their garden or
moving snow in the
winter, Fred was more
than willing to lend a
hand in his tractor. That
tractor was his pride and
joy in life so he tried to
show it off whenever he
could. Fred will always be
remembered for his hard
work and his willingness
to lend a hand to whoever
needed one. His witty
jokes and heart-warming
smile will be never be for-
gotten.
Fred is survived by: his
wife, Arlene; daughters,
Chelsey Waswick of
Minot, ND and Stephanie
(David) Enander of Stan-
ley, ND; his grandchil-
dren, Veronica, Daphne,
Bethany, Mara and Dean;
brother, Dennis (Ramona)
Johnson of Williston, ND,
and sisters, Connie (Larry)
Faucett of Pretty Prairie,
KS, Jo (Jay) Davis of
Hutchinson, KS: as well
as numerous cousins,
nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death
by: his parents, Milford
and Myrtle Johnson; and
sister, Malonie Johnson.
