Elizabeth Ann Grant,
31, the daughter of Don
and Jeri Grant, was born
on August 3, 1989 at
Minot Air Force Base, ND.
She passed away in her
West Fargo, ND, home on
Thursday, January 21,
2021.
Liz lived in Minot
throughout her childhood,
attending Bel Air Elemen
tary School through 6th
grade. She then
transferred to Bishop
Ryan High School where
her father taught, graduat
ing in 2008. During her
years at Ryan, she partici
pated in multiple varsity
sports, including volley-
ball, basketball and soft-
ball.
Liz loved music, espe-
cially the piano, which
she studied throughout
elementary and high
school. She also played
trumpet and guitar. Her
natural rhythm and joy of
music was evident in her
many piano festivals and
school events. In her
adult life, she knew the
words to every song from
Disney to Broadway to
pop.
Following high school,
Liz attended NDSU and
Minot State, where she
developed a love of art,
especially painting and
clay. She then became a
Certified Nursing Assis-
tant (CNA) working at
Manor Care of Minot and
in private home health.
Her love of travel took
Liz, along with her
parents and brother, on
multiple European vaca-
tions and Caribbean
cruises. She loved the
sites and tolerated the
scuba diving.
In 2011, Liz gave birth
to the first wonder of her
life, Hanley Grant, fol-
lowed by her second
wonder, Haven Thornton
in 2014. Motherhood
suited her and she loved
the role.
Liz made West Fargo
her home and was recent
ly employed as a CNA at
Sanford Health with the
goal of becoming a nurse.
Liz is survived by: her
children, her parents,
brother Erich Grant (Af-
ten), her much loved
nieces and nephew, Noah
Grant, Arie Grant, and
Owen Grant. She valued
and loved her uncles,
aunts, and especially her
cousins. Family time was
treasured.
Liz was preceded in
death by: her maternal
grandparents, Herman
and Marian A. Koll, her
stepgrandmother, Marion
Henjum Koll Decker, and
her paternal grandparents,
Donald and Lucille Grant.

Pandemic, a Private Mass
of Christian Burial by in-
vitation will be held
Wednesday, January 27,
2021, at 10:30 am at St.
Leo the Great Catholic
Church, Minot, ND. The
family encourages those
attending to wear masks
and social distance.

Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday
from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00
p.m. at Thompson-Larson
Funeral Home, Minot.

at 7 p.m. at

preferred to a trust fund
account that will be set up
in Hanley and Haven’s
name in care of Don and
Jeri Grant, or to an organi
zation of the donor’s
choice.
