Donald Heinze, 81,

Parshall Bay, formerly of

Deering, died Tuesday,

December 22, 2020, in a

Minot hospital.

Donald was born Janu-

ary 26, 1939, in Minot,

ND, to Alfred and Johanna

(Petschke) Heinze. He was

raised and educated in

Minot, ND.

He married Laurie

(Johnson) Heinze on April

25, 1959, at Little Flower

Catholic Church in Minot.

They made their home in

Minot, Deering, and

Parshall Bay.

Donald was employed

by Farmers Union Oil

Company and retired

from Minot Public

Schools as a bus mechan-

ic in 1998. In his early

years he was active in the

HVH (Heinze Varty Har-

stad) Arena in Ruthville

as a steer roper with his

close friends.

Donald and Laurie were

blessed with eight chil-

dren. Their home was al-

ways filled with much

laughter and activity.

Everyone was always wel-

comed in their home.

Donald’s hobbies includ-

ed fishing, hunting, pull

tabs, going to the casino

with his beloved Laurie,

family, and friends. He

loved watching black and

white western movies. He

was an avid “Donny

Schatz” fan and his

greatest joy was when he

could go to the sprint car

races with his children

and grandchildren. He

loved the outdoors and

passed that love down to

his children and grand-

children. The best of

times were all the camp-

ing and fishing trips that

were taken. His home and

yard were open to every-

one who came to the lake.

(Laurel) Johnson, Karen

Beck and numerous

nieces, nephews, and

cousins.

Donald was preceded

in death by his wife Lau-

rie, parents Alfred and

Johanna Heinze, daughter

Rachelle Heinze, brothers-

in-law Norman Beck and

Tony Merck and brother

and sister-in-law Burton

and Dorothy Johnson.
