Barbara R. Nutter, 93,

Minot died peacefully on

Friday, December 25,

2020 in a Minot hospital

with her family at her

side.

Barbara “Bobbie” Ruth

Becker was born on Au-

gust 5, 1927 in Fond du

Lac, WI to Reverend Dr.

John and Ottelia (Graf)

Becker. She graduated

from Fond du Lac High

School in 1945 and gra-

duated from Wartburg

College in Waverly, IA in

1949. Bobbie was em-

ployed as a social worker

in Waverly, IA, and

Denver, CO. Later, she be-

came a Civilian Instructor

in Personnel for the U.S.

Air Force at Scott Air

Force Base, IL.

Bobbie was united in

marriage to O. Richard

Nutter on June 9, 1951 in

Fond du Lac. Following

his discharge from the Air

Force, they moved to

Milwaukee, WI while

Dick attended Marquette

University School of Den-

tistry. Following his gra-

duation, the family lived

in Rugby, ND for two

years before moving to

Minot in 1959, where he

was a dentist in private

practice for forty years.

Bobbie and Dick resided

in the Green Valley neigh-

borhood of Minot until

her passing. For over fifty

years, they also enjoyed

spending time with family

and friends at their cabin

on Lake Metigoshe.

Bobbie was an active

member of First Lutheran

Church and participated

in various community or-

ganizations throughout

her life. She was especial-ly proud of her involve-

ment in the establishment

and administration of the

Minot Swim Club. She

was a past president of

the North Dakota Dental

Auxiliary, and represent-

ed the state as the North

Dakota Delegate to the Na-

tional Dental Auxiliary.

Bobbie and Dick enjoyed

spending time with

friends and family, but

their greatest joy was al-

ways their children and

grandchildren.

Bobbie was preceded in

death by: her parents,

husband, and siblings Ro-

land (Helen), Gertrude

(Henry Herman), George

(Mary), Norman (Mil-

dred), Harold (Anne), and

Arnold.

Bobbie is survived by:

her four children, Anne

Swenson (Steven) of Bil-

lings, MT; Elizabeth Greer

(Murray) of Minot; Tho-

mas (Elyse) of Sarasota,

FL; and Nancy Peck (Da-

vid) of Bellevue, NE;

grandchildren Jason (Na-

dine), Jonathan (Whitney),

Jeffrey, and Joseph (Kate)

Swenson; Patrick (Tressa),

Laura Robinson (William),

and Stephanie Greer;

Timothy, Matthew, and

Kristen Nutter; and Alex-

ander, Charles, and Han-

nah Peck;

great-grandchildren Kyla,

Ada, and Ria Swenson;

and Natalie and Mia

Greer, sisters-in-law Mari-

lyn Becker and Catharine

Nutter, special cousin and

life-long friend Helen Riz-

zi, and many nieces,

nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID restric-

tions, a private family ser-

vice of the life of Barbara

Nutter will be on Thurs-

day, December 31, 2020 at

11:00 a.m. in First Luth-

eran Church in Minot. A

livestream of the service

will be available by using

firstlutheran.tv or the link

in the website obituary.

A public visitation will

be on Wednesday, De-

cember 30, from 3:00 p.m.

to 6:00 p.m. in the Tho-

mas Family Funeral Home

in Minot. Face coverings

and social distancing are

required.

Interment will be in

Rosehill Memorial Park in

Minot.

In lieu of flowers, the

family requests memorials

be made to First Lutheran

Church, Minot, or a chari-

ty of choice.
