“Snookie” Stark, 81,

Minot, formerly of Tolley,

died Saturday, Nov. 21,

2020, at a Minot assisted

living facility.

She was born Nov. 29,

1938, near Loraine, to

John and Ella (Davidson)

Fuchs. She attended

school in Loraine and gra-

duated from Sherwood

High School in 1956.

Louise married Duane

Stark on Oct. 21, 1956, at

Trinity Lutheran Church,

Tolley. They moved to

Duane’s parents’ farm in

Ivanhoe Township, Ren-

ville County, south of Tol-

ley. They spent the

winter months in Lignite

where Duane worked in

the oil fields.

Louise assisted Duane

with the operation of the

farm and taking care of

the cattle, managed the

Country Hollow Bar for 13

years, worked at M.T.I.,

Wes’s Bar in Tolley,

managed the Tolley Fire

Department gaming site,

worked on getting ease-

ments for the installation

of rural water lines, wrote

a local news column and

“Snookie’s Memories” for

the Renville County Farm-

er and the Kenmare News,

helped write the Renville

County History book, and

she and Duane served as

grand marshals in 2004

for the parade honoring

the 100th anniversary of

Tolley. Duane died Nov.

25, 2016.

Louise was a member of

Evangelical Lutheran

Church, Tolley, and the

ladies aid, the Tolley

Senior Citizens, Tolley

Homemakers, Mouse

River Loop Threshing As-

sociation, the Cross Coun-

ty Wagon Train. She was

a member of the Renville

County Old Settlers Asso-

ciation and organized the

program for many years.

She enjoyed quilting,

square dancing, pinochle,

poker and dominos. The

family is very thankful for

the care Louise received

at Cookie’s Cottage of

Edgewood Vista.

Louise was preceded in

death by: parents, John

and Ella Fuchs; husband,

Duane Stark; and grand-

daughter, Lindsay Stark.

Funeral: 2 p.m.,

Wednesday, Nov. 25,

2020, at Zion Lutheran

Church, Mohall. A link to

Cemetery, rural Tolley.
