Minot, ND, passed away
Friday, October 9, 2020, at
Trinity Homes in Minot.
Viola Mae Wolden was
born May 14, 1930, the
daughter of Joseph and
Mabel (Leum) Wolden, in
Mayville, ND. She was
raised and educated in
Mayville, ND, graduating
from Mayville High
School in 1947. Viola had
planned on doing mis-
sionary work until she
met the love of her life,
Lyle Peter Anderson.
On May 29, 1949, Viola
married Lyle at Our Sa-
viors Lutheran Church in
Moorhead, MN. Following
their marriage, they made
their home in a couple of
North Dakota communi-
ties. She worked at May-
ville Hospital for several
years. In 1956, they
moved to Minot, ND. She
was a homemaker for
several years as she raised
her children. She enjoyed
crocheting, knitting, gar-
dening, cooking, baking,
canning, and making lefsa
for her family. She sold
lefsa to many people in-
quiring about it. Viola
worked at Trinity Nursing
Home in Minot for 20
years until her retirement.
Lyle passed away January
23, 2007.
Viola spent her retire-
ment with her children
and grandchildren. After
the flood, Viola lived with
Penny for six years. She
moved to Edgewood Vista
on December 17, 2017,
then to Trinity Nursing
Home in September 2019
where she died peaceful-
ly.

nett, Amanda Enget, Lisa
Vannett, Matthew Ander-
son, and Nichole Ander-
son; 22 great- grandchil-
dren; sisters, Claire John-
son and Joann (Pat) Fin-
strom, both of Grand
Forks, ND; and numerous
nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Viola was preceded in
death by her parents,
Joseph and Mabel; hus-
band, Lyle; son, David
Duane Anderson;
daughter, Judy Morien;
son-in-law, David Adam;
granddaughter, Sandy
Paddock; brothers, Kermit
and Milton Wolden; and
sister, Lois Pointer.
Funeral: Tuesday, Oc-
tober 13, 2020, at 11:00
am at Southside Church
of the Nazarene in Minot,
ND. The family en-
courages those who attend
to wear a mask and ob-
serve social distance.
Interment: at Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot,
ND. Due to the Corona-
