Mary Linstrom

Mary Linstrom, age 84
of Bottineau, died on
Wednesday, October 14,
2020 at a Minot hospital.
A private service will be
held.
Mary Linstrom, a
daughter of Barthi and
Vera (Darling) Goodman,
was born on March 15,
1936, at Bottineau. She
graduated from Upham
High School in 1954 and
then went on to Minot
State, where she earned
her Teaching Certificate.
She taught in Parshall for
a year before returning to
Upham in 1957, where
she taught elementary
school until 1959. On
August 16, 1959, she mar-
ried Terry Linstrom at Up-
ham. In 1963, they
moved to a farm south of
Bantry. In 1976, she re-
turned to teaching in Up-
ham.
While teaching, she
earned her BA in Elemen
tary Education from
Minot State in 1984. She
continued to teach in Up-
ham until retiring in 2001.
In 2011, they moved
into Towner. Terry
passed away on February
22, 2017. In 2018, Mary
moved into the Bottineau
Good Samaritan Home.
Mary was a member of
the Melankton Lutheran
Church and later the New
Hope Lutheran Church in
Upham. Mary enjoyed
bowling and softball. She
loved playing cards and
filled her time cutting ma-
terial into squares for vari-
ous quilters. Mary was a
Twins fan and could tell
you about each player.
She is survived by her
daughter, Calise (Scott
Blotter) Linstrom of Up-
ham; sons, Bret (Renae)
Linstrom of Towner and
Brian (Leisa) Linstrom of
Rugby; grandson, Andy
Linstrom; granddaughters,
Katie and Emilee Lin-
strom and nephews and
their spouses.
Arrangements were
with Nero Funeral Home
in Bottineau.
