Kathryn “Kathy” Butts

Ova, 55, rural Minot, died

Sunday October 18, 2020

at her home of natural

causes.

Kathy was born May 19,

1965 at Waseca, Minneso-ta, the daughter of Duane

and Barbara (Gerrells)

Butts. She moved with

her family in 1966 and

was raised and educated

in Minot, graduating from

Minot High School in

1983. She attended Minot

State University and re-

ceived an Associate’s De-

gree in Business.

Kathy was united in

marriage to Donnell Ova

on December 28, 1990 in

Minot. They made their

home east of Sawyer.

Along with raising her

two children, Kathy was

employed at Sykes Com-

munication and Trinity

Riverside as an adminis-

trative assistant and of-

fice manager.

Kathy loved participat-

ing in gymnastics and ba-

ton as a young girl and

then loved cheerleading

throughout her high

school years. When Kali

was born, Kathy had the

honor of being at home to

raise her. These were pre-

cious years for Kathy and

Kali, as a mom and

daughter. Kathy had a

passion for life. She loved

to laugh and simply visit

with friends and family

about life events. We will

miss her greatly.

She was a member of

Christ Lutheran Church,

Minot. She enjoyed fish-

ing along with spending

time with her children

and grandchildren.

Her loving family in-

cludes: husband of 30

years, Donnell; son, David

(McCall) Fix, Jamestown,

ND; daughter, Kali Ova of

Minot; grandchildren,

Deegan Fix and Lucee

Hancock; parents, Duane

and Barb Butts, Minot;

brothers, Ken (Jennifer)

Butts and their children,

Makenna & Kaden of Lit-

tleton, CO and Steve (Na-

dine) Butts and their chil-

dren, Lucas, Anika &

Marcus of, Bismarck, ND.
