don “Jim” Otto, 66, rural
Mohall, passed away at
home on Friday, Oct. 9,
2020, just short of his
67th birthday.
He was born on Oct. 16,
1953, in Mohall, to Eldon
and Avis (Sandeen) Otto.
Jim graduated from
Mohall High School in
1971. He attended Minot
State College for a year
and a half, before return-
ing to Mohall to farm full
time.
Jim married Barbara K.
Christensen on Oct. 6,
1978, in Verona. In 1988,
they welcomed the birth
of their son, Andrew,
whom Jim loved dearly.
Jim continued to farm
right up to his death,
despite enduring some
medical challenges along
the way.
In his free time, he
loved to ice fish, golf,
hunt and go camping.
Family: Jim is survived
by his wife of 42 years,
Barbara, and his son, An-
drew, of Mohall; brother,
Gerald Otto; sisters, Joan
Otto and Jane Anseth, all
of Mohall;
brothers-in-law, Thomas
Christensen, Verona,
Robert (Nicole) Christen-
sen, West Fargo;
sisters-in-law, Mary
(Christensen) Walsh,
Feeding Hills, Mass., Jan-
ice (Dennis) Heiden, Pine-
top, Ariz., Nancy
Christensen, Sun Lakes,
Ariz., and Teri (Stephen)
Shepherd, West Fargo, as
well as numerous nieces
and nephews.
Jim was preceded in
death by: his parents; sis-
ter, Ardith Otto;
brother-in-law, Herb An-
seth; and sisters-in-law,
Lori Christensen, and
Nancy (Thomas) Christen-sen.
Graveside Service: 2
p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14,
2020, at the Mohall Com-
munity Cemetery, Mohall.

Following the graveside
service, there will be a
time of coffee and fellow-
ship at the Mohall Com-
munity Center.
