Brian Bushnell, 68,
Minot, died Friday, Oc-
tober 23, 2020 in a Minot
hospital.
Brian was born No-
vember 10, 1951 in Minot,
ND to Ray and Barbara
(Putney) Bushnell. He was
educated in Minot and
Velva, graduating in 1969
from Velva High School.
He attended Minot Col-
lege of Business.
Brian was united in
marriage to Rita Ann
Schaecher on November
20, 1970 at the Southside
Church of the Nazarene in
Minot. They called Minot
home their entire lives
and were blessed with a
large family.
Brian worked for Nash
Finch in Minot, first in
the warehouse and then
as a truckdriver. He
moved on to a career in
the sales industry. Brian
worked for Don Bessette
Motors, Northwest Build-
ing Improvements, was a
partner in Four Seasons
Siding and Windows, Inc
and Leingang Home
Center. Following a hip
injury, Brian completed
his career in sales with
GutterTopper, Inc.
Brian’s most important
roles were husband, fa-
ther, grandfather and
great-grandfather. He
treasured the time spent
attending activities for his
children and grandchil-
dren and was so very
proud of each and every
one of them. He will be
remembered his quick
wit, a clever joke and for
his ability to sing, albeit
often changing the words
to the song.
Brian was a member of
the First Church of the
Nazarene in Minot and
supporter of the NRA. He
enjoyed hunting and
camping, was a reloader
of rifle shells and talented
leather worker in his
younger years. Brian was
a reader of Louis L’Amore
books, enjoyed war
movies and was a WWII
history buff. He enjoyed
taking cruises throughout
the world with his wife
over the years. He will be
deeply missed by all who
were blessed to call him a
husband, father, grandfa-
ther, brother, uncle and
friend.
Brian is survived by:
his loving wife of nearly
50 years, Rita, Minot; chil-
dren Jeremy (Kathy)
Bushnell, Minot. Shannon
(Robert) Ostrom, Minot,
Amanda (Sean) Sailor,
Spearfish, SD, Cortney
(Shannon) Bushnell and
Brianne (Kevin) Kautz-
man, Minot; 15 grandchil-dren; 3
great-grandchildren;
brother Roy (Cher) Bush-
nell, Moorhead, MN; 3
nieces and a nephew.
Brian was preceded in
death by: his parents and
brother Alden Bushnell.
A Private Family Ser-
vice to Honor Brian will
be held at 3:00 p.m. Tues-
day, October 27, 2020 at
First Church of the Na-
zarene, Minot. A lives-
