Wollschlager-Troite, 94,

Minot, formerly of the

Parshall-New Town area,

died on Thursday October

22, 2020 in a Minot hospi-

tal.

Betty was born August

24, 1926 on the family

farm near Makoti, North

Dakota, the daughter of

Nels and Betsy (Bivens)

Peterson. She was raised

and educated at country

schools in that area, be-

fore graduating from

Makoti High School. She

received a standard teach-

ing certificate and taught

for a short time at a coun-

try school NE of Makoti.

Betty was united in

marriage to Wilfred

Wollschlager in June 18,

1946. They made their

home on a farm nine

miles west of Parshall in

the “dam” country where

they farmed small grains,

had dairy cattle and

raised their family of 9

children. Wilfred died Oc-

tober 22, 1991.

Betty continued to live

on the family farm on

Lake Sakakawea until

moving into Parshall. She

was united in marriage to

Les Troite on February 19,

2003. They lived in Ore-

gon part of the year and

then would spend the

summer months at

Parshall and at Dakota

Terrace apartments in

Minot. Les died on Febru-

ary 14, 2013. Betty moved

back to Minot and had

most recently been a

resident of Somerset

Court Assisted Living

Center.

Along with raising her

family, she was an active

member of St. Anthony’s

Catholic Church, New

Town. She was a member

of Birthday Club in New

Town and enjoyed read-

ing and dancing. She had

a wonderful sense of

humor and was known for

her many quips.

Her loving family in-

cludes: children, Claudia

vage, Minneapolis, MN;

Roger (Mary)

Wollschlager, Dickinson;

Inez (Michael) Schneider,

Rhame; Frank (Diane)

Wollschlager, Mims, FL;

Blane (Joan) Wollschlager,

Arlington, TX; Amanda

(Glen) Olson, Minot; Mark

(Theresa) Wollschlager,

Epworth, GA; Kurt (Jack-

ie) Wollschlager, New

Town; 33 grandchildren;

43 great-grandchildren

and one

great-great-grandchild;

stepchildren include Gary

(Cheryl) Troite, Albany,

OR and Linda Troite,

Sweet Home OR; along

with numerous nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Betty was preceded in

death by: her parents,

husbands Wilfred and

Les, brothers Alan, Paul,

Bernard and Harold Peter-

son.

tian Burial: Friday, Oc-

tober 30, 2020 at 11:00

a.m. in Our Lady of Grace

Catholic Church, Minot.
