Betty Lou Brewer, 85,

Minot, ND, passed away

Sunday, October 11, 2020,

at a Minot hospital, due to

consequence of Covid-19

pneumonia.

Betty was born August

14, 1935, on the family

farm near Max, to George

and Nellie (Hubsky)

Zahursky. She grew up

on the family farm and

later moved to Minot and

graduated from Minot

High School in 1953.

Betty was united in

marriage in 1954 to

Charles Kelly, who was in

the Air Force. They lived

abroad and in different

states while her husband

was in military service.

They settled in Minot

after he retired. They

were later divorced and

she remarried and then

was divorced. The love of

her life was long-time

boyfriend, Gene Rogers of

30 years.

Betty worked at Sweet-

heart Budget Bakery for

26 years from 1973-1999.

She loved her job and

working with her custo-

mers. She received

awards for excellent cus-

tomer service. After she

retired she continued to

do her favorite things, go-

ing to bingo, dancing, gar-

dening, and visiting with

family and friends.

Betty is survived by:

daughter, Brenda (Jeff)

Selberg, Faibault, MN and

son, Greg (Lori) Kelly, Far-

go, ND. Granddaughters,

Amanda (Jesse) Arm-

bruster, Faibault, MN,

Melody (Jason) Prochnow,

Jamestown, ND, and

Meagan (Victor) Godoy,

Huntsville, AL; grandson,

Matt Kelly, Fargo, ND,

and five great- grand-

daughters and two

great-grandsons: sisters:

Debbi Vavra and JoAnn

(Gene) Zahursky-Klein,

and many nieces and

nephews she was very

fond of.

Betty was preceded in

death by her longtime

boyfriend, Gene Rogers,

her parents, brothers: Ar-

nold, Bennie, and Archie

Zahursky; sisters: Joyce

Hagen and Beatrice Cole.
