marriage to Irene Rose

with six children. Albert

spent the early years of

his career as a bookkeeper

for Gaffney’s Office Sup-

ply, Chrysler Car Dealer-

ship and I Keating Furni-

ture World. The years

spent working for those

businesses prepared him

to go into business for

himself.

In 1976 he established

the Sofa and Sleep Shop.

The waterbed was popu-

1980’s leading to a name

change for the business to

ences and left the family

story of his ancestors. Al-

bert was known for his

tant to Albert. He loved

taking his children hunt-

ing and attending their ex-

friends spent weekend

after weekend going to

dances and playing game

after game of Pinochle.

The competition between

continued with his
