Robert John Green, 71,

of America Medical
Center in Rugby on Sep-

Bob was born on De-
cember 12, 1948 in Rugby

son) Green. He was raised
on the family farm near
Towner and graduated
from Towner High School
in 1967.
Bob attended North
Dakota State University
where he received his
bachelor’s degree in An-
imal Science in 1971.
Those that knew Bob
know he often used his
B.S. During his college
years, he was a member of
the NDSU Saddle and Sir-

Bob married Diane
Goodman on December
20, 1969. They lived in

Bob farmed and
ranched in Wager Town-
ship – McHenry County
all of his life. Bob was
passionate about ranching
and was a promoter and
advocate of innovative
grazing practices. He
loved his Shire draft
horses. He bought his first
Shire stud horse in 1979
and thus began many
years of raising, breaking
and enjoying many other
events with his horses.
We all have memories of
snow snakes, snipe hunt-
ing, or “falling” off Bob’s
sleigh. Bob was an active
member of North Dakota
Draft Horse Association
and served as President in
past years, in addition to
being the editor of the
newsletter for nearly 20
years. Bob also put his
B.S. to work announcing
at various draft horse
events and his Facebook
Live pasture walks. In ad-
dition to his draft horses,
Bob also had dairy cattle
for many year and contin-ued to raise beef cattle. He
enjoyed good whiskey,
