Janice Renfandt, 86,
Minot, formerly of
Sawyer, passed away on
Thursday, September 17,
2020, at a Minot hospital.
Janice L. Larson was
born on September 3,
1934, in Minot to Arthur
and Zora (Harris) Larson.
She was raised and edu-
cated in Minot. She gra-
duated from Minot High
School in 1951.
On March 22, 1953, Jan-
ice married Ruben Ren-
fandt in Minot. The cou-
ple moved to his family
farm in rural Sawyer
where they grew small
grains and operated a
dairy farm while Janice
took care of the house-
hold. In 1979, she attend-
ed the ND State School of
Science in Wahpeton and
obtained certification to
become a licensed practi-
cal nurse in 1980. Follow
ing her licensure, she be-
gan her employment at
Trinity Hospital. She
worked as an LPN for 27
years, retiring in 2007.
Following Ruben’s
death in 2012, Janice
moved to Dakota Terrace
in Minot and later to
Somerset Court in Minot.
Janice loved to do
cross-stitching. When Ru-
ben would have her watch
wrestling on the television
with him, she would al-
ways sit there patiently
with him and cross-stitch.
She also loved knitting
and making baby blank-
ets. Janice enjoyed being
outdoors, gardening,
growing flowers and cut-
ting the grass. When she
moved to Minot, Janice
began doing word
searches, Sudoku, and
puzzles.
Janice was a member of
Bread of Life Lutheran
Church in Minot, a 4-H
Leader, and a member of
the ladies aide in Sawyer.
Janice is survived by:
her son, Scott (Sandi)
Renfandt, Minot;
daughters, Marge (Jim)
Ronnie and Colleen
(Bryon) Kraft, both of
Surrey; 11 grandchildren;
20 great-grandchildren
with one on the way;
sister-in-law, Bernice Po-
zarnsky; and other ex-
tended family.
She was preceded in
death by: her husband,
Ruben; parents; infant
daughter, Peggy sister,
Audrey Dickinson; and
brother, Robert “Bob” Lar-
son.
Due to the coronavirus
pandemic, a private fami-
ly graveside service was
held at Rosehill Memorial
Park in Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of
flowers, memorials are
preferred to Bread of Life
Lutheran Church, Minot.
