Irene K. Rasch Ellwein

daughter of Wilhelm

“Bill” and Ottilie Neuman

Rasch, was born on April

21, 1919 in Mercer Coun-

ty near Krem, North Dako-

ta. She graduated from

Hazen H. S. in 1935. On

May 11, 1943, Irene was

united in marriage to Al-

bert G. Ellwein in Boise,

Idaho. They resided in

Bismarck, Pick City, and

Minot in North Dakota be-

fore relocating to Litch-

field Park, Arizona in

1977. For the last four

years of her life Irene has

resided in the Solstice

Senior Living Residence

where she was an avid

bridge player and enjoyed

joining her friends around

a jigsaw puzzle.

On September 2, 2020,

Irene passed away in her

daughter’s home in Sun

City West, Arizona. She

was 101 years old.

She is preceded in

death by her husband Al-

bert, her brother Eldor,

her sister Elsie Wiedrick ,

and her son-in-law Rick

Johnson.

Those remaining to

cherish her memory in-

clude her brother, Alvin

(Glen Ullin, ND), her son

Rodney (Victoria, TX), her

daughter Sandy Johnson

(Sun City West, AZ), her

two grandchildren, Jen-

nifer Schuricht (Scotts-

dale, AZ) and Jeff Johnson

(Glendale, AZ), and her

six great grandchildren,

Caleb, Tate, Blakely, Hud-

son, Brody, and Makenna.
