Rosella Tollefson, 92,

Minot died unexpectedly

on Tuesday, July 7, 2020

in a Minot hospital.

“Rosie” Rosella Arlene

Berge was born on June

29, 1928 in Souris, ND to

Gustav and Anna (Hoi-

brenden) Berge. She was

raised on the family

homestead farm and gra-

duated from Souris High

School in 1946. She was a

graduate of the Trinity

School of Nursing in

Minot in 1949.

Rosie married Orlan

Tollefson on October 23,

1949 at the Turtle Moun-

tain Lutheran Church

near Souris. They made

their home in Minot

where she became a

full-time wife, mother and

homemaker.

Rosie was a faithful

member of Bethany Luth-

eran Church taking an ac-

tive part in the Altar

Guild, church circle,

quilting, and helping out

wherever she could. She

was currently a member

of PEO Chapter AV. In the

early years of the Norsk

Hostfest, she was a

co-chairman of the Import

Shop spending countless

hours buying, stocking,

displaying and selling.

She also volunteered at

the Bethany food booth.

In years past, she enjoyed

golfing and traveling the

world with her husband.

In recent years, she en-

joyed playing bridge with

friends, reading, baking

bread, buns, and lefse.

But always, more than

anything, she loved being

at home and with her

family. She recently com-

mented, “There is no

greater accomplishment

than raising a family.”

grandchildren; sisters; Al-

ice Ihla of LaVista, NE, Ju-

lie Lee of Rochester, MN,

Helen Woods of Portland,

OR; in-laws; Duane and

Sharlene Tollefson of

Minot, Phyllis and Neville

Kempkes of Broomfield,

CO, Arlene Berge of Bot-

tineau, ND, and Dolores

Berge of Mandan, ND.

And her many nieces and

nephews.

Rosie was preceded in

death by: her beloved

husband; siblings and

in-laws: Art Berge, Olaf

and Gladys Berge, Polly

and Melvin Haugen, Otto

Ihla, Jo and Ray

Kornkven, and Gordon

and Geneva Berge.
