Marty Anderson
March 30, 1964-July 5, 2020
Marty Anderson, 56,
Minot, ND, died Sunday,
July 5, 2020, from injuries
sustained in an ATV ac-
cident in Jackson County,
Wisconsin.
Marty was born March
30, 1964, the son of Leslie
Anderson and Georgette
Skarstad in Hazen, ND.
Marty graduated from Des
Lacs/Burlington High
School and he took some
college courses at Minot
State University.
Marty married Lisa
Hedstrand and they had
three beautiful daughters:
Amber, Chrissy and Ash-
ley. As time passed, they
grew apart, but Marty
found love again. He mar-
ried Carol Gagnon and
started a new chapter in
his life with Carol, her
daughter and eventually
her granddaughter. Dur-
ing this chapter Marty’s 3
daughters, Amber,
Chrissy, and Ashley, also
gave him 6 awesome
grandchildren. Sadly,
Carol passed away in
2013. This was a great
loss for Marty. Over time
he found a new compan-
ion in Susan Zeitz, who
he was able to love and
enjoy the remainder of his
life with.
Marty was a member of
Des Lacs United Metho-
dist Church.
Marty enjoyed moving
around, whether it was a
short camping trip or ac-
tually packing up and
moving to another state.
He moved to Reno, NV for
a time and also to a
suburb of Cleveland, OH,
just to see what was out
there; but ultimately re-
turned to his home state
after both ventures.
Over the years Marty
held many trades and
usually more than one at
a time, always a hard-
working man! He did
some maintenance and
handyman work, cooked
in various restaurants,
dealt lots of blackjack and
was working on becoming
a master woodworker. At
the time of his passing, he
worked for Scherr’s Ca-
binets & Doors and Aces
Lounge & Casino.
Marty enjoyed midnight
walks in big cities, fixing
his truck and/or bike,
camping, fishing, listen-
ing to music, dancing,
biking, martial arts and
being quirky with the kids
in his life among many
other things.
