Herslip Deahl, age 93 of
Hillsboro, ND, formerly of
Minot, passed away
peacefully on Thursday,
June 25, 2020, at the San-
ford Medical Center in
Hillsboro, with her family
by her side.
LuElla was born on Oc-
tober 9, 1926, to Carl and
Clara (Olson) Soland in
rural Kramer. She was the
youngest of four brothers,
Clinton, Claremont,
Richard and Gordon, and
one sister, Doris Hagen.
They all preceded her in
death.
LuElla was united in
marriage to Lawrence
Herslip in 1945. They
started their life on a farm
near Souris, ND. They
had five children and
created a lifetime of fond
memories. Lawrence died
in November of 1968.
After several years, LuElla
moved to Bottineau and
her oldest son, Larry, took
over the farm.
In 1977, LuElla married
Gerald Deahl and moved
to Seattle, WA. After a
few years of missing her
family, they returned to
North Dakota and settled
in Minot. Gerald died in
2003. LuElla continued
her life in Minot until Oc-
tober 2019; when she then
moved to Assisted Living
in Hillsboro to be closer to
her daughters, Betty and
Bonnie.
LuElla enjoyed her fam-
ily and spent her entire
life spoiling and loving
them in many ways.
Needless to say, the entire
family returned those
blessings to LuElla during
her lifetime.

am) Kesler, Sarah (Brian)
Novlesky; Brandi (Aaron
Skyberg) Koffler; Jody
(Carrie Alme) Kurtz, Jay
(Kendra) Kurtz, Aaron
(Kamille) Meyer; Ryan
(Brittany) Deck, Tyler
(Michele) Deck;
great-grandchildren, Jessi-
ca, Joshua, and Ella
Kesler; Tylar and Brett
Novlesky; Brody and Bry-
son Koffler; Lincoln and
Caden Alme; Kaylee, Jay-
son, and Kenzie Kurtz;
Miraya Meyer; Grayson
and Hudson Deck; Brooks
and Hayes Deck; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
LuElla was preceded in
death by: her siblings,
husbands, son, Scott
Herslip, son-in-law, Herb
Deck, and grandson, Dus-
ty Deck.
Her funeral will be held
on Thursday, July 2, 2020,
at 1:00 pm at the Nero
Funeral Home in Bot-
tineau.
Visitation will be from
12:00 pm until service
time.
Burial will be at the
Mouse River Cemetery at
Landa.
There will be a lun-
cheon following the ser-
vice at the Cobblestone
Inn in Bottineau.
