Deloris Schieve

Jan. 28, 1929-June 27, 2020

Deloris A. Schieve, 91,

Minot, ND, passed away

peacefully Saturday, June

27, 2020, in a Minot nurs-

ing home.

Deloris Ann Korgel was

born January 28, 1929, the

eldest daughter of Leo and

Jeannette (Kjos) Korgel, in

Minot. She was raised on

her parents’ dairy and

grain farm north of Surrey

and was educated in

Minot.

Deloris was a loving

wife. She married Alfred

R. Schieve on October

12th, 1953, at St. Paul’s

Lutheran Church in

Minot. They made their

home in Minot, where to-

gether they raised their

two daughters and son.

Deloris and Alfred loved

listening to music and

dancing at the Moose.

They spent many week-

ends taking family camp-

ing trips to Lake Saka-

kawea.

Alfred passed away

May 10, 1989.

After Alfred’s passing,

Deloris was determined to

obtain her driver’s license

and when she did the city

of Minot’s streets seemed

endless.

She passed time

volunteering at the Senior

Citizens Center, Minot’s

Convention & Visitor’s

Bureau, and on Henry

Tower’s Resident Counsel.

She never missed a good

opportunity to play any

card game; whist and pi-

nochle by far being her

favorites. And if there was

a bingo game to be played

in any community room

in town or where she

resided, you could be cer-

tain she was there with a

card or two in hand.

Her daily routine re-

volved around the activi-

ties schedule, naps, and

family visits. She was al-

ways an avid participant.

Deloris was a devoted

mother, grandmother, and

great-grandmother. She

loved her family like none

other. When she could get

anyone’s attention, even a

stranger, she spoke of

them always. She was

proud of the family she

raised and who they had

become. Her family was

her soul and she will con-

tinue to look down on

them with a warm smile

on her face.

She was a member of

St. Paul’s Lutheran

Church in Minot.

Her loving family in-

cludes: children, Karolyn

(Jon) Hughes, Minot, Peg-

gy (Daniel) Dickinson,

Surrey, and Darrell (Carla)

Schieve, Minot;

grandchildren, Troy

(Stephanie) Dickinson,

Kaylyn Hughes, Stacey

(Mike) Gietzen, Torrey

(Jessica) Dickinson, Justin

Hughes, Brandon (Rachel)

Schieve, and Sarah

Schieve;

teasha Hughes, Keona and

K’Shaun Taylor; Hailey,

Emma, and Lily Dickin-

son; Christopher Jenner,

Nikolas Kraft, and Aden

Dickinson; Finley and

Fisher Schieve; in-laws

Myrtle Beaudoin, Marvin

and Lavona Getzlaff,

Geraldine Strandberg, Lu-

cille Schieve, and Shirley

Schieve; and numerous

nieces and nephews who

will always remember her

as Aunty D.
