John Joseph “Jack” Pyne
Feb. 9, 1932 – May 7, 2020
Jack was born to Frank
and Gertrude (Gillan)
Pyne in Waterbury, CT.
He served in an activated
Air National Guard unit
during the Korean War.
He married Carol Finke
from Minot, ND, in 1953,
in Spokane, WA, where
he was stationed. Jack and
Carol initially lived in the
San Francisco Peninsula,
where they welcomed
their two children. After
working many years in
sales, Jack moved with
Carol to Auburn, CA,
where they owned a store
for 24 years before retiring
to College Place, WA.
Jack enjoyed golfing, oil
and watercolor painting,
and doing a variety of
creative projects around
the home. Jack and Carol
visited Minot many times
over the years for Finke
family and Carol’s high
school reunions.
Jack is survived by his
wife of 66 years, Carol; his
son, Bob; his daughter,
Janette (Matt) Kilgore; two
granddaughters, Nicole
Stettler (Anthony Corag-
gio) and Danielle Pyne;
his great-grandson, Alex-
ander Fitts; a sister and
two sister-in-laws; and
numerous nieces and
nephews. The twinkle in
Jack’s eye when he was
about to say something
funny, knew he was being
a bit “cheeky,” or glanced
at Carol will forever be
missed.
Jack passed away on
May 7, 2020, at his home
in College Place, WA, sur-
rounded by his loving
family. Friends and family
may read more about
Jack’s life, share
memories, and sign his
online guestbook at

lieu of flowers, donations

pice; Sonbridge; or a char-
ity of your choice.
