Fred D. Voeller, 101

Voeller, San Antonio, TX.

Fred Voeller was born

July 22, 1918 in Rugby,

and graduated from Rug-

Artillery Unit of the 4th

Infantry Division during

World War II in the Euro-

pean Theatre, fought in

the Invasion of Normandy

and the Battle of the

Bulge, and was honorably

discharged in 1945.

Following his military

service, Fred returned to

Minot in 1947 and started

his career in the furniture

business alongside his

brother, Roy Voeller. In

1957, Fred became the

sole owner of Voeller’s

Furniture and by 1965

had expanded his busi-

ness to include furniture

stores in Minot and Rug-

consolidated to two stores

in Minot; Family Furni-

Conlin’s Furniture. Fred

retired in 1982.

Fred married Catherine

their children on many

memorable family vaca-

instrumental in taking all

his children, grandchil-

da in recent years. Be-

cause of our love and ad-

miration for him, our fam-

ily tried to gather yearly

to celebrate his life. In

1981, Fred and Kaye be-

gan to spend the winter

months in the Florida

Keys and later in Naples,

FL. The couple ultimately

settled in San Antonio,

2013. Fred loved to play

tennis and golf, which he

did well into his 90’s. He
