Eileen Busch

Eileen Frances (Goven)

Busch passed away on

May 19, 2020 at the West-

ward Heights Care Center

in Lander WY.

Eileen was born on Au-

gust 16, 1924 on a farm

near Turtle Lake, ND to

Olive and Edward Goven.

As a young girl, she

walked miles to the

one-room school early

each day to start the coal

stove in exchange for pi-

ano lessons; her love of

music was passed on to

her children and

grandchildren. Eileen at-

tended St. Alexius School

of Nursing in Bismarck

ND with hopes of becom-

ing a nurse cadet for the

WW2 effort. The war had

ended by the time she gra-

duated, so she put her

nursing skills to use as a

public health nurse in

rural ND.

She married Henry

Busch in 1950 and they

farmed near Portal and

Minot ND. Eileen was ac-

tively involved in her

church and community

and provided leadership

to the St. John the Baptist

Alter Society, the Little

Flower Confraternity and

the local 4-H chapter. Her

strong faith provided her

comfort and strength

throughout her life and

was an inspiration for oth-

ers.

She loved to bake and

was well known for her

homemade brown buns,

caramel rolls and desserts.

After retiring, she and her

husband moved to Ames,

IA and later to Lander,

WY. Eileen strongly be-

lieved in the value of edu-

cation and was proud of

the educational accom-

plishments of her chil-

dren and grandchildren.

Eileen is survived by

her children Dr. Mary

(Wayne) Gregoire of

Naperville IL, Dr. Henry

(Lisa) Busch of Faribault

MN, Rita (Mark) Peterson

of Lander WY, Paul (Gail)

Busch of Inver Grove

Heights MN, and John

Busch of Bellingham, WA;

15 grandchildren; 5 great

grandchildren; her sisters

Margaret Peters and Carol

Doyle and her brother

Earl Goven.

She was preceded in

death by her husband,

Henry; sisters Dorothy

Frost, Bernice Moriarty,

and Jane Senger; and

brothers Donald Goven,

John Goven, and Richard

Goven.

A funeral will be held

at Holy Rosary Catholic

Church in Lander and she

will be buried in St.

Joseph’s cemetery in

Bowbells ND. Donations

in lieu of flowers can be

made to the Henry and

Eileen Busch Scholarship

Fund at Bishop Ryan
