Doris Adams

Doris B. Adams, 100,

Bottineau, formerly of

Lansford, ND, and Minot,

ND, passed away Monday,

May 25, 2020, at the Good

Samaritan Center in Bot-

tineau, ND.

Doris Byrle Rohra-

bacher was born February

13, 1920 in Renville

Township, Bottineau

County, North Dakota, to

Byrle “R.B.” and Flora

(Tyler) Rohrabacher.

She started school at the

Renville Corner in 1925,

and to Bentinck Township

attending school through

the seventh grade. She

then attended Maxbass

School in Maxbass, ND,

graduating in 1936. She

attended The Bottineau

School of Forestry for 9

months in 1936-37, taking

business courses.

Doris worked a few

months in the A.A.A. Of-

fice and then worked in

the Bottineau County

Auditor’s Office from

1937 to 1942.

On April 25, 1942,

Doris married Frank

Adams in Lansford, ND.

On July 8, 1942, Frank

was drafted into the Unit-

ed States Army. They

spent some of their Army

life in Texas and Louisia-

na. While in San Antonio,

TX, she worked at the

Alamo National Bank.

Frank was honorably

discharged from the ser-

vice in August of 1943.

They returned to Lans-

ford, where they owned

and operated the Confec-

tionary Store for a short

while.They then started

farming north of Lansford

and farmed until they re-

tired in 1978.

After retiring, they

spent winters in McAllen,

TX, where they loved to

socialize and golf. Doris

once hit a Hole-In-One at

the Adobe Wells Country

Club. They also enjoyed

taking tours around the

U.S. and foreign coun-

tries. Doris and Frank en-

joyed bowling and bowled

in doubles and singles

leagues at the Lansford

Lanes for many years.

Frank died on March

29, 1988. Doris contin-

ued to live in Lansford

until the early 90’s, when

she moved into Minot.

First in her condo, then to

Somerset Court and to the

Bottineau Good Samaritan

Center in 2012.

She was a member of

the Lansford United

Methodist Church and

while living in Minot, was

a member of Vincent Un-

ited Methodist Church,

where she was involved

in the Ruth Circle and the

choirs in both churches.

She was a life member

and Past Worthy Matron

of the Order of the Eastern

Star, and was active in the

Elketts, Moose Lodge and

both the Lansford and

Minot Senior Citizens.

She loved to play bridge

at at one time belonged to

5 bridge clubs. One for

every day of the week.

Metigoshe, Bottineau, ND,

and Mark (Julie) Adams,

Lake Metigoshe, Bot-

tineau, ND; grandchil-

dren, Kent (Judy) Adams,

John (Virginia) Adams,

Charlie (Jaime) Adams

and Tressa (Chip) Sjule;

great-grandchildren, Chel-

sea Essig, Brittany

Bruegger, Harrison

Adams, Ray Sjule, Grant

Sjule, Sawyer Adams,

Easton Adams; great

great-grandchildren,

Chloe Essig, Amesley

Bruegger and Dylan Essig;

a few nieces and nephews

Doris was preceded in

death by her husband,

Frank; her parents; broth-

er, Don Rohrabacher; sis-

ter, Dona Jean Connole;

and a

great-granddaughter,

Ainsley Adams.

at 1:00 pm at Sunset

Memorial Gardens, Minot,

ND. Due to the Corona-

virus Pandemic, please

observe social distancing.

Visitation: A private

family viewing will take

place at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.

Memorials: In lieu of

flowers, memorial are pre-

ferred to Good Samaritan

Society, Bottineau or

donor’s choice.
