Kathleen M. Brockey,

82, Minot, passed away

unexpectedly on Monday,

February 17, 2020 in a

Minot hospital.

Kathleen Mary was

born on October 6, 1937,

in the Swedish hospital in

Minneapolis, MN. She

was raised in Minot by

her parents, Christ and

Rosemary Struksnes,

where she attended Minot

Public Schools, graduat-

ing in 1955. She furthered

her education by attend-

ing nursing school.

On November 30, 1957,

she was united in mar-

riage to Frank Brockey Jr.

They made their home in

Minot, where Kathleen

was a homemaker, raising

the couple’s five children.

They later divorced. Over

the years, Kathleen

worked for the Parker

Hotel, and Trinity Nurs-

ing home in the dietary

department. Retiring

when she was 70 years of

age.

Kathleen enjoyed

watching the Dr. Phil

show, working on jig-saw

puzzles and avidly

colored in her coloring

books for adults. She was

a member of First Luth-

eran Church, Minot. She

was a loving mother,

grandmother,

great-grandmother, sister

and friend and will be

missed by all that knew

her.

Kathleen is survived

by:

Her five children: Kris-

tine Smith, Deborah

Brockey, both of Minot,

Grant Brockey, Sioux

Falls, SD, Brian Brockey,

Enumclaw, WA, and

Lance Brockey, Burling-

ton, ND; 14 grandchil-

dren: 19

great-grandchildren: Si-

blings: Robert “Bob” (Joy)

Struksnes, Garrison, ND,

Mary (Rodger) Zurcher,

Glenburn, ND; Several

nieces, nephews and

cousins also survive.

Kathleen was preceded

in death by: her parents, a

brother Harold C.

Struksnes.

February 21, 2020 from

4:00 PM until 7:00 pm at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.

Funeral Service: Satur-

day, February 22, 2020 at

10:30 am at First Lutheran

Church, Minot
