William “Bill” Bachmeier

William “Bill”

Bachmeier—-84, Minot,

ND, formerly of Granville,

passed away on Friday,

January 3, 2020 in a

Bismarck hospital with

his family at his side.

William “Bill”

Bachmeier was born on

April 22, 1935, the oldest

of nine children born to

Anton and Phyllis (Adam)

Bachmeier in Orrin, ND.

He was raised and educat-ed in the Orrin area. His

father passed away when

Bill was very young. His

mother later remarried Al-

bert Schiele, whom he as-

sisted on the Schiele fami-

ly farm.

On November 4, 1955,

Bill enlisted into the Unit-

ed States Army. He

proudly served his coun-

try, until his honorable

discharge on October 17,

1957. Upon his discharge,

Bill began working for the

City of Minot as a heavy

equipment operator. He

worked in this capacity

until his retirement fol-

lowing 38 years of service.

He spent his retirement

years meticulously caring

for his farmstead, the Dus-

ty Acre Farm.

On September 8, 1987,

Bill was united in mar-

riage to Selma

Whitfield-Rogert. To-

gether they enjoyed

spending time dancing at

the Minot Moose Lodge

and their family. Bill en-

joyed fishing and hunting.

Selma passed away on

April 20, 2018.

Bill was a member of St.

Therese Church of the Lit-

tle Flower Catholic

Church, and the Minot

Moose Lodge, VFW,

Knights of Columbus, all

of Minot and the Gran-

ville American Legion

Post #155, .

Bill is survived by:

Allen.
