Sharon Mae Ulberg, 77,

of Minot, ND, passed

away on Tuesday, January

7, 2020 in Minot, ND.

Sharon Mae Weltikol

was born on February 24,

1942 in Minot, ND, to

Gladwin and Laura (Bjel-

land) Weltikol. She was

raised in Tagus, ND, and

graduated from Berthold

High School in 1960.

She was united in mar-

riage to Harlan P. Ulberg

February 5, 1961, at St.

Olaf Church in Tagus,

ND. Harlan worked as a

ranch hand east of Bert-

hold, while Sharon

birthed her three sons,

Darwyn, Kerry and Hugh.

In 1965, they moved west

of Berthold where they

resided and farmed. In

1966, their daughter, Jane,

was born. They retired

from farming in 2003, but

remained on the farm un-

til moving to The View in

Minot in 2016.

Sharon and good friend,

Nancy Peterson, opened a

ceramic shop in Berthold

in the late 70’s. Her many

hobbies included: Quilt-

ing, photography, garden-ing, ceramics, stained

glass, bowling, shopping,

researching family ances-

try and snowmobiling.

She always had a sense of

adventure.

Sharon and Harlan en-

joyed hosting holidays

with their family, espe-

cially Christmas. She

especially enjoyed spend-

ing time with her

grandchildren. Following

their retirement, they win-

tered in Arizona and Tex-

as.

We will never forget her

200 watt smile, spread

from dimple to dimple,

which was especially pro-

nounced when Harlan

would repeat one of his

many Norwegian jokes.

Sharon was proud of her

Norwegian heritage. She

made a trip to Norway

and volunteered at the

Norsk Hostfest, enjoyed

making Lefse, potato klub,

and Rommegrot. She was

a great cook and was

known for her meatballs

and gravy.

Her loving family in-

cludes: husband of 58

years, Harlan; children,

Darwyn Ulberg,

Columbus, MT, Kerry

(Char) Ulberg, Foxholm,

Hugh (Julie) Ulberg, Bert-

hold, ND, Jane (Rob)

Campbell, Glasgow, MT;

grandchildren, Amber

berg, Austin Ulberg, Bray-

den Ross, Cody Ross, Hal-

lie Ulberg, Laura Ross,

and Jake Ulberg;

great-grandchildren, Kar-

lee Olson;

step-grandchildren, Ka-

telyn, Kody and Austin

Olson; sister, Yvonne

“Dee” (Gary) Gravseth,

Burlington, ND; a

nephew, Scott Gravseth,

Minot, ND; as well as

numerous nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Sharon is preceded in

death by her parents,

Gladwin and Laura Wel-

tikol and nephew, Todd

Gravseth.

Celebration of Life Ser-

vice: Saturday, January

11, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at

Zion Lutheran Church,

Berthold.

Interment: St. Olaf’s

Lutheran Cemetery,

Tagus, ND.

Visitation: There will

be no reviewal, but

friends may sign the re-

gister book on Friday from

5 to 7 p.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.
