Eric A. Johnson

Eric A. Johnson, 54, rur-

al Maddock, passed away

Monday, December 30,

2019 at Sanford Health in

Bismarck, ND after strug-

gling with health issues

throughout the summer.

His funeral will be held

Monday, January 6, at

10:30 A.M. at the First

Lutheran Church in

Fessenden. Visitation

will be held Sunday,

January 5, from 3 P.M. to

6 P.M. at the Nelson Fun-

eral Home in Fessenden

and for one hour before

the service at the church

on Monday.

Eric Allen Johnson, son

of Everett and Delores

(Kieper) Johnson, was

born April 10, 1965 at

Harvey. He grew up on

the family farm east of

Heimdal and attended

Fessenden Public School,

graduating in 1983. Eric

began farming with his

parents at an early age

and continued to farm

with his father and broth-

er, Dean. He lived in

Hamberg for a number of

years and served as the

mayor before moving to

rural Maddock in 2012.

Eric was a lifelong

member of the Hoff Luth-

eran Church in Heimdal,

a member of the Harvey

Eagles Club and was

presently serving on the

Fessenden Co-op Board of

Directors. He was the ul-

timate Green Bay Packer

fan. His hobbies included

collecting baseball cards,

coins, and John Deere

toys. He enjoyed working

at the Bunker and visiting

with all the customers.

He is survived by the

love of his life, Robyn

Risovi; children, Valerie

(Dean) Lefor, Aimee John-

son and Ashley Risovi;

grandson, Tyson; father,

Everett; brother and

sister-in-law, Dean

(Michelle) Johnson;

nephews, Zach (Katie),

Branden and Porter John-

son; several aunts, uncles

and cousins and a host of

friends.

Eric was preceded in

death by his mother,

Delores (2010) and a

number of aunts and un-

cles, cousins and many

friends.
