Delores Marlene

Martwick, daughter of Au-

gust and Anna (Pankratz)

Martwick, was born

March 5, 1935 on the fam-

ily farm northeast of Bal-

four where she grew up

and attended the nearby

Fairview Country School.

On April 9, 1955,

Delores was united in

marriage to Joseph Lemer

at Towner. They made

their home west of Drake

where they farmed and

ranched until moving into

Drake in 1994. Joe passed

away September 16, 2017.

In addition to working

side by side with Joe on

the farm, Delores raised a

huge garden and canned

most everything she

raised. She loved to cook

for family and friends and

was known for her deli-

cious buns, Knoephla

soup and chicken dinners.

Although busy with her

own family and farm,

Delores was always wil-

ling to help a neighbor in

need. After moving to

Drake, she continued to

help out on the farm,

maintained her farm gar-

den as well as the one in

town, enjoyed dog sitting

and looked forward to an

occasional crop tour.

Delores enjoyed playing

cards, especially pinochle

and, in recent years, had

taking a liking to visiting

the casinos, but always

with a limit. She also en-

joyed crocheting and,

through the years, made

hundreds of afghans as

gifts for family and

friends.

Delores was an active

member of St. Margaret

Mary Catholic Church

and Altar Society of

Drake.

She is survived by her

4 sons, Joel (Linda) of Car-

rington, Kevin (Mary) of

Bismarck, Lonnie (Trish)

of Bismarck and Jay (Lau-

ra) of rural Drake; 11

grandchildren; and 13

great-grandchildren.

Delores was preceded

in death by her husband,

Joe; her parents; 3 sisters,

Leona Hartman, Annie

Martwick and Dorothy

Tilton; and 8 brothers,

Maynard, infant Alfred,

Harold, Delmer, Everett,

Eddie, Archie and

Francis.
