Clifford E. Larson

March 30, 1933-Jan. 21, 2020

Clifford E. Larson, 86,

Minot, ND, passed away

January 21, 2020, at Even-

tide Memory Care in De-

vils Lake, ND.

Clifford E. Larson

“Cliff” was born in Blais-

dell, North Dakota, Kicka-

poo Township, the young-

est of seven children on a

farm. Losing his mother at

an early age, Cliff moved

to Minot, North Dakota to

continue his education.

While growing up in

Minot, attended Model

High School in Minot,

North Dakota graduating

in 1951.

Cliff joined the Air

Force and ended up in a

unit stationed in Hawaii.

While in the Air Force,

Cliff was able to fly to

places and experience the

world most young men at

that time only dreamed of

such as Japan, India,

Egypt just to name a few.

Cliff and Lois would be-

come the proud parents of

their daughter, Kelly, son

Scott L. Larson, and son

Doug Larson. In Minot,

Cliff opened and operated

Cliff’s Custom Cabinets.

Cliff loved to see the new

houses going up. Cliff’s

talents of cabinetmaking

were in high demand. He

cultivated many friend-

ships and acquaintances

along the way. Many of

these friendships became

the “coffee crew” at the

shop in the retirement

years.

Cliff managed to find

quality time for recreation

and loved to take the fam-

ily fishing, camping, boat-

ing and water skiing. The

memories made on those

family outings are still be-

ing talked and laughed

about today. Cliff also had

a passion for flying small

aircraft and regretted hav-

ing to give up the same

when the flight physical

became an issue. Cliff

loved to hunt pheasants.

Probably the best part of

the hunt was talking

about raising and doting

over any and all dogs that

also were involved in the

hunt. Cliff loved dogs of

all types and especially

the hunting variety.

Cliff did not escape the

natural changes life brings

to everyone. The coffee

crew dwindled in number

each year. The Minot

flood of 2011. Decades of

homes and their history

lay on the boulevard. The

aftermath was a depress-

ing blow to Cliff. Cliff en-

tered the memory care

unit of Eventide in Devils

lake, North Dakota in

2018. He was well cared

for at Eventide the

remainder of his life.

Cliff was preceded in

death by his sons, Scott

(2017) and Doug (2019);

his parents, his sisters

and brother.

Cliff is survived by his

wife, Lois; and daughter,

Kelly Wang (Jim) their

children, Marit and Peter,

of Devils Lake, ND, his

daughter-in-Law, Carol

Larson (widow of Doug

Larson) of Petersburg, AK,

and their children, Sara

and Mackenzie.
