Calno Roy Webster
Oct. 6, 1935 – Dec. 31, 2019
Calno Roy Webster,

on December 31, 2019 in
Minot at the age of 84.
Cal was born on Oc-
tober 6, 1935 near
Roseglen, ND to Leon and
Bertha (Hansen) Webster.
He attended several coun-
try schools near Minot
and Deering for 10 years.
He married Gayle John-
son in 1955, after meeting
her when she taught
school east of the Webster
family farm. After the
couple moved to Minot,
Cal began working con-
struction at Gavin Yards,
then at a Conoco Service
Station as an attendant.
Following this, Cal
worked at Farmers Union
Creamery, White’s Ice
Cream Dairy, then at
Bridgeman Creamery
where he worked for 30
years from 1962 through
his retirement in 1992.
Cal also had a part-time
taxidermy business for 45
years, turning it into a full
time business after his re-
tirement from Bridgeman
Creamery.
Cal and Gayle wel-
comed two children into
their home, and
developed many happy
memories on summer
weekend camping trips,
on summer vacations, and
hunting and fishing. His
children remember him as
a kind and driven father
who encouraged them to
pursue their goals. After
Gayle’s death in 2008, Cal
lived alone until 2014,
when Alma Hamre joined
him in Minot.
Cal was accomplished
at hunting, fishing, trap-
ping, and water skiing,
and won multiple taxi-
dermy awards. He was a
dedicated individual who
loved his family and who
was passionate about na-
