Rita Lemer

Rita Lemer, 95 of Har-
vey, ND died Thursday,
December 12, 2019 at
Trinity Homes, Minot.
Funeral Mass will be at
10:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
December 17, 2019 at St.
Cecilia Catholic Church,
Harvey. Burial will be at
a later date in the church
cemetery.
Rita Louise Bruner was
born on February 7, 1924
on the family farm north
of Drake, ND. She was
the daughter of Anton and
Mary (Steiner) Bruner.
She attended school at
Funston and in Drake.
Rita and Ben Lemer were
married on June 18, 1946
at Anamoose, ND. They
lived on and rented
several farms before buy-
ing one near Kief. In 1968
they purchased the Amigo
Motel in Harvey and
moved there. Rita
managed the motel with
the assistance of her hus-
band for thirty years and
retired in 1998. They
moved to Minot and she
had been residing in Trin-
ity Homes. Rita was a
member of the St. Cecilia
Catholic Church and its
Holy Family Society,
Catholic Daughters, Har-
vey Area Right To Life,
Wells Eagles and Veterans
Of Foreign Wars Auxi-
liaries and Senior Citizens
all of Harvey.
Those sharing in Rita’s
life were: sons, Robin Le-
mer of Chicago, Illinois,
Lowell Lemer of Lincoln,
ND; daughter-in-law Judy
Lemer of Fargo, ND; Ho-
ward Vivian, Elgin, Illi-
nois; six grandchildren,
Jason(Sarah) and
Brent(Jemma) Vivian,
Cherie and Amy Lemer,
Taylor and Dylan Lemer;
five great-grandchildren,
Brennan, Logan, Lennon,
Aralyn and Langston; one
sister, Joann Schneider of
Green River, Wyoming.
Rita was preceded in
death by her parents; hus-
band, Ben who died on
March 26th, 2019;
daughter, Benita Vivian;
son Ryan Lemer; two
brothers, Otto and Larry
Bruner; six sisters, There-
sa Gutzmer, Isabel Rud-
nick, Irene Knebel, Loretta
Lemer, Florence Lemer,
and Hilda Buckmeier.
