Lois Olson, 80, Garris-

on, formerly of Max, died

on Wednesday, December

4, 2019 at the Garrison

Hospital. Memorial ser-

2019 at 2:00 pm at Our

Savior’s Lutheran Church

in Max. Burial will be

held later.

Lois was born October

21, 1939 in Hatton, ND to

Arthur and Lillian (Moe)

Thompson. She lived

there for several years be-

fore moving with her fam-

ily to Garrison. She at-

tended school in Garrison

and was in the graduating

class of 1957. While work-

ing at the Starcurb

Drive-inn in Garrison,

Lois met the love of her

life. Lois married Chris

Olson on January 13, 1957

at St. Paul Lutheran

Church in Garrison. They

then moved to Whittier,

CA where they lived for 6

years. They then moved

back to the family farm

Southeast of Max where

they began farming. Lois

mainly helped on the

farm, but she would work

at the grocery store in

Max occasionally. Lois

and Chris later owned and

operated the Centennial

Bar in Max.

Lois was very active in

the Max community serv-

ing on many boards and

was a dedicated member

of Our Savior’s Lutheran

Church. She was a busy

body and always had to

be doing something. She

loved to play cards, espe-

cially pinochle. She and

Chris went to many card

playing parties and

events. She was an ex-

tremely social person and

was always up to visit.

She was a tremendous

cook and was always pro-

viding a casserole to

someone that was in need.

In her down time she did

ceramics, embroidered,

did crafts with friends,

and she was an avid

bowler. Lois loved her

family and looked forward

to all the family gather-

ings with her children,

grandchildren, and ex-

tended family.

Lois would want every-

one to remember “live

your life doing whatever

blows up your bloomers!”
