James D. Boechler, 55,
Mesa, Arizona, passed
away November 24, 2019
in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Born June 24, 1964 in
Minot, North Dakota, he
was the son of Emanuel
and Kathryn (Salwey)
Boechler. He grew up in
Karlsruhe, North Dakota
and graduated from
Karlsruhe High School in
1982. After high school,
he studied accounting at
the University of Mary in
Bismarck, North Dakota
and earned his bachelor’s
degree in 1985. Upon gra-
duation, he relocated to
Phoenix, Arizona to begin
his accounting career.
Jim’s quick wit and
keen sense of humor was
unmatched. His love of
life and family was clear
to all who knew him. He
didn’t seem to know a
stranger; he would start a
conversation and before
you knew it, it felt like
you were a lifelong friend.
His affable nature was
comforting to all who
knew him. Jim loved
spending time with
friends and family, sum-
mers in Karlsruhe and
watching Bison football
with his brothers were
some of his best times. He
had a big heart and would
help anyone who needed
it.
He is survived by his
brothers and sisters, Patri-
cia (Dick) Jensen of
Karlsruhe, ND; Edward
(Kitty) of Atlanta, GA;
Greg (Colleen) of Scotts-
dale, AZ; Germain of
Karlsruhe, ND; Jerome
(Kim) of Overland Park,
KS; Brenda (Chris) Zietz
of Minot, ND; John (Mai-
tha) of Phoenix, AZ, and
several nieces and
nephews.
Jim was preceded in
death by his parents,
Emanuel and Kathryn
Boechler of Karlsruhe,
ND.
A celebration of his life
will be held in Karlsruhe,
ND at a later date.
