Irene Lucille Matzdorf

was born February 9,

1923, the daughter of Guy

and Grace (Wherley)

Matzdorf, in Berthold,

ND. She was raised and

educated in Berthold.

Irene was united in

marriage to Vinton Ray

“Bob” Spratt June 30,

1947, in Minot. They

lived in Minot for a short

time and due to Bob’s

work as a pipefitter, they

also lived in Illinois and

Kentucky. They returned

to Minot in 1956, where

Irene worked as a CNA for

St. Joseph’s Hospital and

later at Trinity Nursing

Home. Vinton Ray “Bob”

passed away February 17,

2015.

She was a member of

St. John the Apostle

Catholic Church, the

Catholic Daughters of

America, the Moose

Lodge, the Veterans of

Foreign Wars Post #753

Auxiliary, American Le-

gion Post #26 Auxiliary.

In their younger days,

she and Bob enjoyed

square dancing and in her

later years, enjoyed

volunteering for her the

many clubs and organi-

zations she belonged to.

Surviving family in-

cludes: children, Barbara

(Walter) Sidick, Tucson,

AZ, Gary Spratt, Lakeside,

CA, and James (Peggy)

Spratt, Minot; grandson,

Troy Hanson, Renton,

WA; and several nieces

and nephews.

Irene was preceded in

death by her parents; hus-

band, Vinton Ray “Bob”;

father-in-law and

mother-in-law, W.H.

“Wade” and Bethel Spratt;

daughter-in-law, Corine

Hansen; brother, Clifford

(Ellie) Mitchell; sisters,

Kathyrn “Kay” (Harold)

Stroklund, and Myrtis

(Daniel) Pardon;

brothers-in-law and

sisters-in-law, Roy, Dan,

Gene, and Glenn Spratt;

sisters, Audrey Mae

Warner and Delores “Sis-

sie” Berryman.
