Ardis (Qvammen)Ziebarth
June 12, 1928 – Dec. 5, 2019
Ardis (Qvammen)
Ziebarth, 91, formerly of
Minot, passed away
peacefully into her
heavenly home on Thurs-
day, December 5, 2019, at
her daughter and son in
law’s farm west of Glen-
burn, where she had
called home for the past
year.
Ardis was born on June
12,1928 in Leeds, North
Dakota, the daughter of
Herman and Inga (Nord)
Qvammen. She was raised
on the family farm near
Leeds and graduated from
Leeds High School. She
attended Minot Business
College and later was em-
ployed with Northern
States Power Company for
many years.
Ardis met the love of
her life, Odell Ziebarth,
through her best friend.
While they were dating,
he tried to win her over
by writing her beautiful
love letters, like this one
that read: “I will be com-
ing up to see you on Sun-
day, after I do my chores.
Can you bake me one of
your delicious apple pies,
Ardy?” Love, Odell. They
were united in marriage
on October 11, 1958. They
were blessed with two
children, Robert and
Mary. After their children
were born, she became a
full time hard-working
and caring homemaker.
Ardis enjoyed going
home to her farm in Leeds
and spending time out-
side relaxing, reading and
breathing in the sweet
smell of the lilacs and
fresh country air. She
loved watering her lus-
cious green grass and
beautiful flower gardens
at her home in Minot. She
enjoyed canning beet and
dill pickles. She and
Odell were longtime
members of Zion Luth-
eran Church in Minot. He
died September 29, 2008.
Ardis’ favorite hymn was
In the Garden.
She had a special spar-
kle in her eyes when she
would visit with her
grandchildren and great
grandchildren. Her furry
friends brought love and
smiles to her face. Sweet
Ava the Cat, with her gen-
tle hugs and her cuddly,
loveable little poodle,
Medora. May God bless
the memory of Ardis.
Her loving family in-
cludes, children, Mary
