Huettl, 76, Minot, passed
away on Sunday, No-
vember 3, 2019 in a Minot
hospital.
LuVerne Joseph Huettl
was born on June 22,
1943, a son of LuVerne
Robert and Lorraine Rose
(Eman) Huettl in Minot,
ND. He was raised and
educated in Garrison, ND,
where he attended St. Ni-
cholas Grade School and
graduated from Garrison
High School in 1961.
While in high school, he
was employed by the Red
Owl Grocery Store.
Vern proudly served his
country in the United
States Army from 1963,
until his honorable
discharge in 1966. Follow-ing his discharge, he
moved to Minot where he
continued employment at
the Red Owl. Vern furth-
ered his education by gra-
duating from the Minot
Business College and at-
tended Minot State Col-
lege.
In 1967, Vern was unit-
ed in marriage to Linda
Kokkeler. From this union
three children were born,
Lisa, David, and Rebecca.
The couple divorced in
1976. In 1983, Vern was
married to Elyse Koop-
mans. The couple di-
vorced in 1994.
Vern worked in all as-
pects of the construction
world, beginning as a la-
borer, and working his
way up to be a job and
project superintendent.
He lived and worked in
Seattle, Orange County,
CA and retired in Minot
in 2005.
He was an avid reader,
enjoyed playing cards,
gardening, carpentry, at-
tending auction sales and
collecting antiques. He
was a loving father, grand-
father, great-grandfather
and friend and will be
missed by all that knew
him.
He is survived by: Chil-

(Jon) Hill, Kelso, WA; five
grandchildren: Danielle
(Travis) McDermott, Whit-
ney (Fiance Matthew
Walter) Wolf, Matthew

Kraft) Wolf, Reid Huettl,
and Shane Huettl; two
great-grandchildren: Emry
and Kenadee McDermott;
siblings: Pat (Alan) Burck-
hard, Glendale, AZ, Alice
(Gerald) Zeiszler, Mazo-
manie, WI, Tom (Debbie)
Huettl, Scottsdale, AZ,
Jeri (Gilbert) Saenz,
Chandler, AZ, Nina
Huettl, Glendale, AZ;
brother-in-law Stan Bird,
Ooltewah, TN and
sister-in-law Elaine
Huettl; several nieces,
nephews and cousins also
survive.
Vern was preceded in
death by his parents, a
brother Dan, a sister Wan-
da and an infant sister.
Celebration of Life:
Will take place on Satur-
day, November 9, 2019
from 12 Noon until 4 in
the Northern Plains
Room, Door A, at the
Northern Plains Hotel, lo-
cated at 1515 22nd Ave
SW, Minot.
Burial: A private family
committal service will
take place at the Saint Ni-
cholas Catholic Cemetery,
Garrison, ND
