Lois Jones, 75, Minot,
passed away on Tuesday,
November 5, 2019 in a
Minot hospital.
Lois Ann (McCombs)
Jones was born on July 28,
1944, a daughter of
Francis and Marian (La-
zier) McCombs in Rugby,
ND. She was raised and
educated in Towner,
where she graduated from
Towner High School in
1962. She furthered her
education by earning her
Bachelor of Science De-
gree in Elementary Educa-
tion from Minot State
University.
Lois was once united in
marriage to Frank Jones.
To this union son Scott
Jones was born. The cou-
ple later divorced. Lois
began her teaching career
at a country school and
she later taught at Bur-
lington Elementary. She
worked for the ASCS of-
fice in Minot for many
years and worked at B.
Dalton Bookstore until the
store closed. Lois always
kept her teaching license
active and worked at Sun-
nyside Elementary in
Minot until present.
Her faith was very im-
portant to her. She was an
active member of the
Faith United Methodist
Church, where she taught
Sunday School and sang
in the choir since 1981.
She was very proud of her
family, especially her
grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Some
of her favorite memories
were her yearly trips to
the Dinosaur Museum in
Dickinson and Medora
with her granddaughters.
She enjoyed reading,
especially to her
grandchildren and kids
from school. She was a
fan of science fiction,
some of her favorites were
X-Files and Star Trek.
Lois always wanted to
stay active and attended
as many functions as she
could. Lois was a friend to
all and was always ready
for a good conversation.
She will be missed by
many.

(David) MacKay, Minot,
Robyn (Tiare) Chai, Kenai,
AK, Joshua Jones, Minot;
9 great-grandchildren:
Micheal, DaySun, Jack-
son, Grace, Maxwell,
Rohan, Dayne, Wyatt, and
Rosalyee; siblings: Ida
Stewart, Oregon, Robert
(Patty) McCombs, Town-
er, ND , Dorothy Moore,
Minot, Beverly (Jerry)
Goodman, Upham, ND;
several nieces, nephews
and cousins also survive.
Lois was preceded in
death by: her parents and
an infant brother.

vember 11, 2019 from 3
until 7 pm at Thompson
Larson Funeral Home,
